i recently started using windows movie maker and i just learned how to put to save on a cd but i am not sure of what is going wrong...
i save to a cd and it works fine till half way through my cd holds 650 MB and the file is only 188 MB so im not sure why half way through the images stop and the music keeps going...it is a slide show and the images just stop and there is the other half to go but nothing else happens...
can you please help me out?

Hello there,

First do a little test. Save the movie to your hard drive as a WMV type. If it
works OK (and plays back ok) we can eliminate project content as a source of
the trouble.

Assuming that it does save properly to a normal file...

Have you ever copied (using any other program) files to your CD writer and did
it work?

Assuming the answer is yes ...

You have either a faulty installation of Movie Maker and/or you have a system
bottleneck.

Faulty Movie Maker
==============

1) Download the full versions of DirectX, Windows Media Player and Movie Maker
2 (It is important that you get the full versions and do not attempt an install
over the internet)

2) Reboot the computer and install DirectX.

3) Reboot again and install Windows Media Player

4) Reboot one more time and install Movie Maker.

It is necessary to reboot each time mentioned because you have to be sure that
all file locks are removed and that the target files are not in use by some
other process.

Before you start the burning process you need to stop all unnecessary
process's. Check out the FAQ on my website and look at speed. You mi9ght also
want to read up on the Hard Drive section as well. If you are not certain about
what these articles tell you to do then don't touch...seek a friend who has
suitable knowledge before proceeding.

If in doubt about anything do please ask before you do anything.

Okay well...
First, is there any person that I can speak to over the phone on this becuase it's harder ot read and try to accomplish these things at once...
Second, if there is not is there anyone I can like hire to fix this becuz I'm not totally sure if my CD writer really works either I don't really save things to CD's in the first place...

Hello there,

1) Usually you pay for telephone support, and it can be very expensive. I
expect you received a manual of some sort that will tell you how to use your
software, and of course there is the help file for your software that might
just give detailed instructions. Failing that, do you know someone who can
help.

2) I have no idea, you would have to check locally for such services. It
will almost certainly be expensive.

If you check with your local education authority you will probably find that
you can go to night classes where you can learn all of the basics. That
would be the cheapest option.
