Saving sound file as part of slideshow

I'm using PowerPoint 2007 and I'm trying to save the sound I have inserted
(an mp3) as part of the slideshow. I've made sure that the sound file is
smaller than the 'Max Sound File' size. When I click on the dialog box
launcher (the little arrow) as it suggests in the help screens I get options
to loop until stopped, display options but not the following options as it
says in the help screens:

"Under Information, following File, you will see either Contained in
presentation (meaning that the sound is embedded) or the file path (meaning
that the sound is linked)."

I know it hasn't save the sound as the ppsx file is smaller than the sound
file itself. I''m not sure how to get the sound saved in the presentation.
I'm sure it's something really easy but I can't figure it out.

I'm so sorry - you can't save MP3 as part of the presentation. Microsoft is
misleading you when the text says maximal **sound** file. Sound here means
only WAV. They should clarify that and not talk of "sound" in general when
they only mean WAV.
 
Thanks for your help. I've tried using a WAV file and that doesn't seem to
save with the slideshow either. Is it because I'm not getting the correct
options in the Sound Options Tab according to the help screens?

Let's start again then :-)
1. Office button -> PowerPoint options -> advanced
2. Scroll way down and you'll see Save -> Link sound with file size greater
than and ramp it up (50,000 is the max) & OK
3. Insert -> Sound -> sound from file & navigate to file (as best practice I
always move sound files to same folder as presentation first)
4. Continue as before.

Great stuff!!! I hadn't been putting the file in the same directory as the
presentation. I had spent all day trying to work that out!!! LOL
