Saving Sort settings

In the 'olden days' I used Lotus Symphony (DOS version). It had a feature
where you could save various settings like 'Data Sort sequence' and 'Print
settings', assigning names to each. I believe Excel can save Print settings
in Custom Views, but can't find any reference to saving sort sequences.
So in a Music database you could assign names for various sort sequences
(Year-Album-Song, Song-Year,etc) and switch back and forth at will. I realize
you can accomplish the same thing by adding columns containing numbers
representing these sorts. But when data changes you need to change the
sequence numders. That Symphony feature was real handy.
Why is this feature not used in Excel? Am I missing something?

How about something even easier. Incorporate your sort into a double_click
event so that you may sort by the column you double_click
If desired, send your file to my address below. I will only look if:
1. You send a copy of this message on an inserted sheet
2. You give me the newsgroup and the subject line
3. You send a clear explanation of what you want
4. You send before/after examples and expected results.
