For some reason the saving my settings on logoff has started taking
excessively long - the "Saving your settings" message window sits there
for almost 60 seconds!

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Enabling "Maximum retries to unload and update user profile" and setting
the value to 5 seems to have done the trick 8-)

Presumably I don't have to install "User Profile Hive Cleanup Service"
if I'm happy with the logoff behaviour?

There will be some errors in the event viewer but if they don't bother you
then it's ok.

I don't know for sure, but I always thought that if the process went
through the maximum number of retries without succeeding, then the
registry would not be properly updated. UPHClean is supposed to fix the
problem so the update can take place.

Thanks for your reply.

Perhaps I should install UPHClean after all, although according to Steve
it isn't necessary :-\

I can't tell you got sure that it's necessary, but I can tell you that it
doesn't hurt anything to have it installed and it doesn't take any
detectable amount of system resources.

In that case I better install it, thanks.
