Can anyone who is able to save the streaming audio<snip>
tell me how it can be done.

You can drop the link into Streambox VCR and it will download the file to a
specified folder and save it for offline viewing. Download link is at bottom
of web page.

Being from the US, I cannot use this program, but I've heard it works quite
well. :-)

What a joke - and what makes it illegal? Has there been a law passed
against it? There is no copyright infringement - you are simply defeating
the intent of Real to proprietize certain things. This is one of the
reasons a lot of people dislike Real and their software (but only one of
several!)

I agree. RealNetworks claims that Streambox "violated the DMCA, which bars
companies from distributing technology that can bypass copyright protection
measures." It seems to me that Streambox, like a vcr, should fall under fair
use, for it is simply the time shifting of streaming media for personal
viewing and no different than Tivo-ing The Sopranos. Also, the ability to
download and view an intact file is a necessity for those of us still on
dial-up because streaming media just doesn't work on 56k. Here is an article
on the settlement.. http://tinyurl.com/x2hk
