Saving project while working on it

I am wondering if the reason I am having problems with trying to do a final
save and all my pictures not showing up has something to do with just saving
the project when I am working on it. When I first started my project, and
clicked the save button, I do believe it was automatically saving in WMM
(tell me if that would be wrong assumption), I was having problems awhile
back and got frustrated and deleted my whole project and started over, when I
finished and clicked save, it saved it without my help in My Documents under
My DVD's, how can I get it to save in the Windows Movie Maker software as
this may be the solution to my problem of the missing pictures. Thanks

It doesn't matter where you save it as long as you can
reopen it. Hard drive space is hard drive space.

..... in addition to what Walter says, the source files for the project don't
get copied into it.... as long as they remain available on the computer, you
can save or move the project file in any folder you want.
