Does anyone know a way to save printer options like staple and double sided
in a report page setup without setting those setting as the defaults on the
printer itself? I have some reports I would like to setup to run overnight
and have them staple.

thanks
Tony

It sounds like a corrupted Report object. Some things to try:

1. Open a module and Compile & Save all modules (Compile <project
name> in Access 2000 & higher).
2. Compact the file (.mdb, .adp) that holds the report.
3. Open the report in design view, change something & save the report
then compact the file.

Tony,

With your report in design view:
File|Pagesetup and the Page tab you can select a specific
printer and set the options for your report.

HTH,

Terry

Thanks to both of you anyway but I think the problem is the print driver. I
hadn't thought of that before posting but after testing that appears to be
the problem.

If I change printers to an HP LJ 5si it works fine but when I try to use the
one I want (a Canon iR400 copier with network printing) it doesn't work.

If you happen to know how to make this guy work, great, but I am guessing I
am stuck.

Tony

Have you checked Cannon's site for updated drivers?

When you do set it to use a specific printer, then be sure to open the
Properties dialog on the printer in Access; you have to specifically set the
staple option etc. and then save the report.
