saving pictures from the web

When I save picture it will only recognize bmp form mat only

I want to save as jpg or gif
 
I was having the same problem and it took me a long time to find the answer. Try right clicking on the picture, and instead of choosing SAVE PICTURE, click SAVE TARGET AS and make sure that bitmap gets changed to JPEG. After I did this I haven't had the problem return, good luck!
