So I know how to copy the picture from the web to my hard drive but when I
try to copy or move to a usb flash drive I get an error of "directory and or
file not available" . These are of family pictures posted on my childrens
myspace page and I want to transfer them to my digital picture frame. any
help ? I do not understand How I can copy them once to my own hard drive but
not be able to move or copy them from the hard drive to either a usb flash or
a flash card. Is there a security feature embedded in the frame ? or
possible a copyrighted policy ?

There is a limit to the number of files you can
add to the root directory of a USB Flash Drive
or Memory Card. It may be worth a try to create
some folders on the Memory Card/Flash Drive
and try again.

I have tried that and I get an error message "Unable to create new folder,
The directory or file can not be created".

I am stumped ?

Thanks anyways John !

No you are not stumped.

Remove some files from the media and try again.

As I previously stated...I think you have reached the
file limit in the Root Directory.

For example I just tested a 1 GB SD Card and the
maximum number of files I can copy to the Root
Directory is 180. If I add one more file I get a dialog
that states: "Cannot copy IMG_4321; The directory
or file cannot be created". And if I try to add a folder
without first removing a file to make room for it...I
get the following dialog: "Unable to create the folder
"New Folder" The directory or file cannot be created"

If I make room by removing files and add empty
folders to the card...I can copy as many files as I
wish into the folders.

I don't know if you have noticed but Digital Cameras
create folders with 100 photos per folder. They do
not add image files to the root directory of the card.
