I purchased a Lap Top with XP Home installed. I tell the
computer to save my username and password when surfing the
net and the computer does not save the file. How can I
correct this?

First, make sure that "Protected Storage" service is running. Click Start /
Run / Services.msc
If it is already ON, try this:

Your Outlook Express Password Is Not Retained in Windows 2000 or XP

[Applies to Auto-Complete as well]

"Protected Storage" is running and I'm still having the
same problems. I went to the web site suggested, but it
talks about retaining passwords for Outlook. I'm trying
to retaine my passwords in Windows and Explorer. Any more
suggestions?

The information provided in the MSKB also applies to IE Save password
issues.
