I am a new user and am having problems saving word
documents on a floppy disk. An unexpected illegal
operation message comes up. I am using formatted disks
but always get the message that disk not formatted and
although it starts off as if to format but then it comes
with error message "an unexpected I/O error occured. Any
tips ?

Dunno if it's the same from the old amiga days but do you have to un write
protect floppy disks?. never use them here so might be an idea

.

Actually, I and quite a few folks I know who use XP are
having the same problem. I am looking for answers as well.
More info: The floppy drive works Great! in other op
systems on my machine. It is only in XP.
I can read SOME disks, but if I try to save to the floppy,
it states that the disk needs to be formatted first.
Attempting a format makes that floppy 100000000% useless
to any op system trying to access the disk, including XP.
From that point the unexpected error occurs.

Personally, I feel it is the MS driver, and If anyone
knows of a generic driver that I can test, I would be
happy to do so. OR better yet, if anyone knows what the
heck is going on on all of these XP machines (home and
pro), I would like some solution.

User who is tired of burning 1.2mb files to a cd to take
to school.
