Saving Newsgroup .jpg Attachments

Assume a message contains an attached .jpg.

With Outlook Express 6, when I clicked on the "paper clip", I would be
presented with a context menu showing the attachment's file name as one
option, and "Save attachments..." as another option.

If I clicked the file name, I would get an "Open attachment warning" dialog
box that would allow me to either open the attachment or save it.

I cannot get this dialog box to appear in Windows Mail.

Saving from this dialog box enables the ability to change the file name
before saving, where the "Save attachments..." option in Windows Mail does
not allow for renaming.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks,
Bill Denton

I don't think you still have the option to save/rename, just save
attachment.

When you click on the paper clip on your porn.jpg message
WM should present you with your picture.
At the top right hand corner of the window containing the pic
there is another paperclip. Click that to enter the save dialogue.

As I said, it doesn't appear possible to rename at that point
but you can change the target folder so, save to a new folder
and rename later.

And just what makes you think that I am downloading porn?

For your information, I belong to several aviation newsgroups, where
pictures of airplanes are often posted. They are often named things such as
"Cessna1". And my collection includes a number of files that were once named
"Cessna1", but that are now named "Cessna 001", "Cessna 002", etc.

Your advice might be better taken if you would keep your uninformed opinions
to yourself...

The lady doth protest too much methinks!

Sorry... I know of no fix for a missing sense of humour.

Try File | Save Attachments. See if that works instead.

I think Julian was just funning.

Yep.

I think it was quite obvious.
Perhaps I touched a raw nerve.
