Saving MSWMM file to DVD

I am trying to use Nero 7 to burn a DVD of a movie that I made in MSWMM. I
have saved the project as a .wmv but can not get Nero to recognize the file.
I'm not sure how to get this movie into a format that can be viewed on my
home DVD player so that I can send it to friends. Any ideas?

NeroVision Express should recognize a .wmv file.

Maybe the following tutorial will offer some ideas.

Thank you. I will try the link. I was trying to avoid remaking the whole
movie in Nero but it looks like that is the only way. I'm not sure the
purpose for MSMM if you can only view it on a PC and not on a DVD....

Please note that MSWMM and WMV are two different things. MSWMM is the
extension used for the Movie Maker "Project" file. The project is just a set
of instructions and ereferneces to the media files. While WMV is the
extension used for a video file generated by Movie Maker. It contains the
final movie (as a sequence of consecutieve pictures)...

The project file can only be opened by Movie Maker. While the video file
(WMV) can be opened by many programs. Also you may save the project file as
an AVI file from Movie maker.

To save the project as movie, use menu File -> "Save MOVIE As"
or press key Ctrl-P
or use the "Save to my computer" under "Finish Movie" step on the left
hand task bar.

In the Save Movie wizard, first screen allows you to select a name for
the saved movie and the next screen is "Movie Settings". Click on "Show
more options..." and you will have all the different options to select.
Select DV AVI from the drop down box and complete the remaining steps.

NeroVision Express should recognize your .wmv
file...there's no reason to remake the whole movie.

And...as Rehan points out...your .mswmm project
file is only for use in Movie Maker if you plan to
re-edit the project.

This is very easy. Save your project to WMV,then use a third party
converter(I use DVDSANTA) One click of the button and DVDSANTA willl convert
and burn to a normal dvd! Enjoy.
