Saving movies with WMM 2.6 in Windows 7

Hi group

I'm using WMM 2.6 in 64bit Win7 but get the infamous error message
whenever i try to save anything anywhere. It seems that many people
have had the same problem, viz

and there doesnt seem an obvious solution. I can save the same movies
with WLMM, but i want to use WMM as this has greater functionality,
and is just way better.

has anybody found a solution to this. MS reply is clearly they want
people
to use their crappy WLMM...
