Saving Movie Problem

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to this.

I'm trying to put together a football game that I recorded on VHS off of
television. I recorded the game on an Archos player that I have, and then
transferred the files to my PC. After loading the files into the WMM
program, I then cut all the commercials, halftime shows and other stuff and
was just left with the game itself. The game was broken into three seperate
files by my Archos player and now i'm having problems. The first two files
(from kickoff to early fourth quarter) went together fine, no problems at
all. Now, when I try to add the rest of the game to the first two files that
I combined, it freezed. At first I thought it was just slow, it being such a
big file. But now, I let the program run for over three and a half hours and
nothing.

Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Ray

hello,

i am having this same problem.
i have 2 clips (ISF format) that total 25 mb
i added a movie title and credit.

i kept the default settings: - best quality playback for my computer and
clicked next. should i select a different option?

i looked under problem solving > can't save a movie

i have a gb of ram, so memory shouldn't be an issue. i have 38 gb of free
hard drive space. i'm running xp with sp1

i changed the temp location to my desktop

i am only trying to put to clips together, so that shouldn't cause this. i
have put 10 clips together before and didn't have this problem.

my goal is to be able to make a vcd (because i don't have a dvd burner yet).
yesterday i went through the same steps with different clips, added
transitions and had no problems.

is this a random problem?
is there another format i can use to combine the 2 video clips to make a
vcd?

any advise would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

: Your project might have gotten to complex for your computer's memory. Save
: the rest of the game to a new project/file..... add the final single clip
to
: the first two parts to render the full game.

Indera,

ISF files are not in the list of supported file types for Movie Maker. I
don't have any experience with them but it seems like you would need to
convert them to something compatible with MM2. Maybe someone else can point
you to a conversion utility.

It would be a codec issue, but the error message doesn't include that as one
of the possible issues. I ran into that today when trying to save an MPG
file to a WMA and the needed codec wasn't available.
