does anyone know if i can save a movie as vcd. It seems to save it in this
proprietary, microsoft-monoploy format, HIMAT. Can I save/convert to a vcd?

Thanks for your help

Save the movie as an avi file and then convert it using a third party program.
tmpgenc is a good one to use its free.
do a search for it on google and then go to
http://www.dvdrhelp.com
to find info on how to maximise its potencial.

If you need anymore help post back please.

All the best..........

Thanks stuart for your quick response.
I will try it.

I dont see an option to save as an AVI. Is "DV_AVI" the format you are
talking about?

Yes, DV-AVI is what shows as the choice and .AVI is the file extension.

thanks stuart. the avi file is going to be large and my project is only 7
minutes. seems like it is too large

thoughts??

The DV-AVI file will be large.... a 7 minute one would need 2 CDs to fit
on.... but when you do the next conversion - to MPEG1 to burn a VCD, it'll
be much smaller and easily fit. The DV-AVI file is just a stepping stone
toward where you are heading.
