Ignore the filesize of the DV-AVI as it will almost always be larger then
the 4.7GB of a DVD but it doesn't matter as whichever DVD Authoring program
you get will convert the file to MPEG2 (VOB) anyway and thereby compress
your video more. For a high quality DVD 1 hour of video on a disk is a good
rule of thumb. With some software you can adjust the quality to allow more
than an hour on a disk but you sacrifice quality in doing so. Usually if you
adjust to fit 2 hours on a DVD the quality is still good but noticeably
different. As far as programs to use Nero Vision Express is a good one but
has a high learning curve and simply isn't very user friendly. There a list
of some of the most popular DVD Authoring programs on my website in the "DVD
Programs" section along with links to purchase or download trial versions of
most of them. That would be another thing I don't like about Nero they don't
offer a working trial of Vision Express so you can't check it out before
spending your money.
