I am running Windows XP Pro and the latest system updates. On my web site, i
have .jpg graphics.

When i run my mouse over the image, it says the name of the file with the
..jpg extension.

If i right click and choose "save as" it saves it as a .bmp file. How do i
change this so it saves it as the correct/original format?

Why isn't the option to save as a .jpg available

In the "save As "Window, next to "save as Type" Try the drop down arrow,
select .JPEG.

It is my understanding that this problem exists because
temp disk cache is full or something like that. It is
stated in a FAQ on this site.

From another Post;

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.
