saving files

I don't know why windows makers have made my music and my pictures folder.
is it worth to save pictures and music in these folders, does saving files
in the same directory
of operating system makes system slower.
Please suggest, the best place for saving music and photo whether in these
folders
or in some separate partition.

Well - technically - the only time they will affect your system speed being
on the same hard disk (physical drive - not necessarily just the same
partition) is when you are viewing them. Otherwise - they aren't doing much
other than taking up space.

If you want the nanosecond back each year - get another internal drive and
store them on it.
(Or stop saving your photos as 3000x3000 pixel TIFs. *grin*)

Not to mention - you do know you can move those folders to be where-ever you
want - right?
