Hello there,

when saving files to a win2k sp3 server, my client will randomly lose
information within the file that was added during the previous edit. For
example: Open a publisher file, add a paragraph into the document, click
save, click close. Open it back up, and that new paragraph is no longer
present. Here's the kicker, the file properties will state that the file WAS
updated at the last point of saving, so the file attributes are being
written but the data within it is not. The user has full access to the
directory and file.

Thanks,

I should've known that....but I had a brain fart.

What happens when the user saves it locally or to another server? What o/s
is the client running? Is he using compression or encryption locally, just
a thought.

Doesnt seem to happen when saved to local hard drive. The client PC is WinXP
Pro.

The only thing else I can think of is some sort of permission issue. Does
it happen with other user accounts? Can you create a test user with similar
permissions and try the same thing from that user's machine. Maybe have the
user take ownership of the file to see if that helps.
