I am having an issue with saving Excel files, directly to a network share,
from within Excel. I receive the following error message below:

##############################################

The File could not be accessed. Try one of the following:
Make sure the specified folder exists.
Make sure the folder that contains the file is not read-only
Make sure the file name does not contain any of the following characters: <
? [ ] : | or *
Make sure the file/path name doesn’t contain more than 218 characters

##############################################

The root folder name is [Marketing Resources]. I don’t have this issue with
MS Word or PowerPoint. I have to save the file to a different location then
move to the network share. My company has had this folder for years so I
wonder if a Service Pack broke this ability from within Excel. Does anyone
have any suggestions or recommendations?

try deleting something in that folder. excel needs to delete temp files in
the folder you are saving to, it could be someone removed that permission

Thanks for replying to my post. This suggestion did not work for me. Do you
have any others? Thanks
