Hi, I am thinking of reinstalling XP in an attempt to clear off junk from
my pc. What I would like to save thought are my emails and folders of
correspondence in Outlook Express.

Is there a very simple way for a novice to do this please? I can use
someone's external hard drive if that would be of any help in this
situation. thanks for any advice.

Hi jw :-)

Here are a few methods and free utilities that will help you do this very
easily.

OE/Tools

from

See section 7 for details

or....

Note that there is also a link in this article to MVP David Guess's free
OEBackup programs (www.oehelp.com/OEBackup/)

also…..

Create the newly named (Transfer) folder on your destination PC.
Then after the folder (Matching Name) is created, replace the .dbx
from the originating PC.

Also...if you want to save and restore your Favorites and settings, here is
a very good free utility that will do that for you too:

BackRex - Internet Explorer Backup - Free Download
http://www.backsettings.com/internet-explorer-backup.html
Backsup all IE files, including Cookies and Favorites
I use this program and like it very much.

Hope this helps.
