Saving down load time

I am using a dynamic template for each page in my web. The top border, left
border, and bottom navigation will all be the same on every page in my site.

Perhaps this is an elementary question, but is there a way to save down load
time by making sure that the images in each border do not have to be down
loaded again and again each time a visitor view a different page in my site?
Or perhaps this happens automatically? I don't know, so if someone can help
I'd really appreciate it!!

Thanks,
Allison

It is automatic as long a the path to the images is the same in each page
