saving default form values

I am new to access (2000) and I must just be missing
something because I can't find any articles on the
problem I am having. The issue is - I have a form with a
button that causes another form to come up (input form
for a table). On the new form I want to set the value
for one of the fields, so the user does not have to.
There is no problem here. However, when the record is
saved, the value that was set is not saved. I have to
assume that because the value was not manually entered,
the add function does not recognize the value. How do I
get the value to be saved?

It looks like that one control is not bound to a data table field. You can
check that if you:
- Right-click the control in design view.
- Activate the properties window.
- Check the Control Source property under the Data tab.
