saving as text to remove corruption of forms

two questions: I read somewhere that if you have a corrupt form in access,
you can use the application.saveastext and the application.loadfromtext to
remove corruption from a form. does this work? i tried to do this and
access blew up on the corrupt form...but i don't know if it usually works.

second question if you do saveastext to two forms, one corrupt and one
functional, is there anyway to compare the two? i tried to compare it in
word, and there was so many differences, there is no way to figure out
anything. i don't have any corrupt forms anymore, but i would like to know
this for the future.

Sometimes it works, and sometimes it just transfers the corruption. Totally
depends on the type of corruption (and for all I know, on the phase of the
moon and the aspects of Saturn).

Microsoft hasn't (to my knowledge) documented the contents of the text file.
