Saving as images

The quality of saving powerpoint as images is pretty poor (jpg) is there a
way to improve the quality? I have found some programs on the net but they
all cost money :(
Are there any freeware programs?

You can export at much higher resolution than actually needed, then downsample
to the final resolution you need. The link Luc gave you will explain how to
get higher resolution images out of PPT.

If you don't already have a program that can do the downsampling, try IrfanView
at http://www.irfanview.com
