Saving A Finished Movie

I have a movie project with about 200 pictures and 10 music files (about
150MB total) and after about 20 mins it completes the save. However, when I
open the movie, about half way through the movie freezes on a picture but the
audio track continues to run.

Any ideas?

Also, what is the best way to save the completed movie so I can play it on a
dvd player?

thanks,

First......PhotoStory 3 would be a better app
for working with still shots.

You may have some incompatibility issues
with your source files. Have a look at the

Thanks for your help. I have already completed the movie so I would hate to
have to start over with a new app. Is there a way to change the file type to
bitmap within my collections or do I need to go the source files, resave,
then replace all of my jpeg files with bitmap files? This would be tedious
since I have loaded 200 pix already.

Thanks.

No, you cannot change the format of
the source files after thay have been
imported into Movie Maker. Prep
work must be done prior to importing.

And..there's no guarantee that converting
the formats of your source files is the fix.

The followng article may offer some
additional ideas:

I would suggest trying a shorter project
with Movie Maker and also the same one
with PhotoStory 3. Personally I've learned
a lot through experimentation. You may
have better luck with .wma, .wav, .bmp...
than with .mp3 and .jpg.

Hmmmm.... yes you can change your source files after importing and using in
projects.... what you can do differs with the source files. See my website's
Manage Your Files > Source Files page.

I guess anything is possible if you have the
patience and knowledge but I don't see any-
thing about converting .jpg files to .bmp files
and continuing to successfully edit and save
the project from the original .mswmm file.

That's part of what I say with this paragraph...

"You can edit a picture that has been used as a source file. Change it's
dimension, edit it with PictureIt or Photoshop, even change the file type
(but keeping the same name and extension)."

by "change the file type" I mean if you have a picture named problem.jpg you
can change it to problem.bmp file. Movie Maker won't accept the replacement
at the start, but if you then rename problem.bmp to problem.jpg and have it
in the same folder as the original source file, than the collections and
projects that use problem.jpg will work fine with the replacement. It's a
..bmp in disquise.

I guess I need to change my wording.

Ok...now it makes sense.

Thanks.

I recently had that and found it to be lack of RAM. Shut down as many
programs as you can that are running in the background. Eventually it worked.
My old computer wouldn't even save it, not enough RAM to support the file.
I bought a Tevion DVD Maker from Aldi that came with a Cyberlink authoring
program. I paid 40 bux is all and I can burn to DVD.
Good Luck!!

Break your project into a few subprojects by saving copies of your project
and deleting parts of it in the copies. Render each one to movie (ctrl-P)
and finally put them together by bringing them into a new project.
