saved gifs import with black sides

I've created gifs in PhotoShop and saved them. When I import them into Movie
Maker, they display a thick black bar on the sides. The gifs themselves don't
have borders. I create the movie and import it into PowerPoint. Even if I
edit the movie object to remove the bars, when the movie plays, they're back.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a special method to save the gifs so they
don't have a border?

I think thast might have to do with the screen size in the video pane on
movie maker. To change the screen size, go to Tools<options<Advanced, and
then change the aspect ratio. This happens to my pictures too sometimes. If
that doesn't work, change the size of the actual picture to fit the frame.
I'm not sure if this will help, but it's worth a try, I guess.

Mmmm, no, that didn't solve it. The gifs are saved with a canvas and picture
size of 11X8.5, and the aspect ratio of 4:3 actually has a smaller black bar
on each side than does the 16:9.

Any other ideas?

Well, this may be a little difficult and impractical, but if you make the
background of the picture black, it won't be as noticable. But, before you do
that, play your video fullscreen on windows media player to make sure that it
isn't just movie maker. I'm probably not the best one to answer, but that's
my advice. You might want to wait for someone else on here to answer, since
I'm not fully sure on what to do.
