I have lots of email address that will show up in the drop
down when i type the first couple letters of an address.
Are these addresses saved somewhere? How would i get
these addresses on a new machine if they are not saved in
my Contacts?

You can either copy the .pst file over and reference it
from another machine if you're using outlook, or export
the contacts to a formatted file (i.e. comma separated)
and then import them on the other machine.

These are addresses you've used before; a cache file. They are stored in a
file named <profilename>.nk2. Note that this isn't a storage file and that
migrating this file to another machine is anything but supported and
recommended practise. If you want to save these addresses you'll need to
store them in your Contacts folder.

The cache is not stored in the pst-file but in a separate nk2-file.
