hi, i have a new laptop with windows XP Profesional and word2003. i want to
create a file in word and then save it directly to CD or DVD . when i select
drive E it says incrrect functin an u dont have access to drve E. would u
please tell me the steps to save the file my email address is

Do not even try! This is normal behaviour unless you have that dreadfully
problematic third party packet format software for CD/DVD. Even then it may
not work and you stand a good chance of losing your work.

Save to the hard drive then use the software that came with your writer to
copy the file(s) to the disc.
To use that file later, copy it back to the hard drive, and uncheck the
read-only file attribute using Windows Explorer before opening it in Word.
