save routine

Sorry all. I asked this question last night but can't find
it today.
I have a form with a subform. The main form is set to
data entry "yes". I am finding that it is too easy to add
a new record without really wanting to, ie if an entry is
made and then the form is closed. Is there a save routine
that I can use to actually have to save the record? Thanks
