My firewall keeps telling me that a program called Save wants to access
the internet. So far I have denied it because I don't know what it is.
What is "Save" anyway?

Adware. And you probably don't want it on your machine. You should run
AdAware and/or Spy Bot Search & Destroy on your machine too.

First eliminate any spyware.

CAUTION!!!!! Removing some spyware can damage the Winsock stact. Before
you try to remove spyware using any of these programs , download a copy of

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Here's the basic rule for choosing what to do with a firewall.

1) Be aware that spyware is bundled with other programs - Denying it may
break the program that it's bundled to. If that's the case, you don't need
the program anyway - there's lot's of good, free programs out there that will
do the same thing without spyware.
2) If it (a program) asks for permission to access the internet - DENY IT!
3) If everything still works fine - Deny it permanently
4) If something breaks - Deny it, and then try and figure out what caused
it (by posting to these or other forums).
4) Once you figure it out what it is, then you can either allow it or deny
it permanently.
5) The basic principle is DENY. You don't want anything going out of your
system without your OK - ever!
