When I put a picture on my web page and click save a box appears and allows
me to save to the image folder (Or change to another folder if i wish)

This box has now ceased to appear when I click save...I deleted my web page
and started again...it worked fine for awhile, once again the box does not
appear.
What could cause this problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the image already in your web site? If it is, there is no need to
save it.

With FrontPage, the best way to handle images - especially .jpg - is to
Import them into a folder in the website (or drag and drop from Windows
Explorer into a folder in the open FrontPage web) *before* placing them
on the page. FrontPage will compress .jpg images every time you save
the image in FrontPage. This can cause quality to deteriorate. If the
images are Imported, the extra compression does not take place.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

No, the image is not on the web site.
When I open the page in Frontpage to add a new picture, I add the picture
and click save, the save to box does not open! It has always opened
previousley.

The only other way this happens is if you have not opened the website
before opening the page.

As I said before, File->Import your images before adding them to the
pages.

Hi again,
Sorry about this but I may not have explained myself properly...I use
Frontpage to build my web site and the I use Terrapin FTP to upload the site.
Would this make a difference?

Would it be easier to use Frontpage? (I have always used Terrapin)

Regards Konrad

How you publish the site makes no difference to how you build the pages.
FrontPage is a website editor, and you should always open a web before
opening a page. It is easy to miss the open web step.
