Hi, I logged on a .ftp using my user name and password and checked the
"save password option", now I'm trying to logon into a different
ftp and I can't, it always directs me to the .ftp which I saved the
password. How can I tell internet explorer to ask me for user mane and
password again. I've already tried different options at
"Tools">"Internet Options">"Advanced", and also erased
cookies and temporary files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Anton

Hi Anton,

Use Windows Explorer i/o Internet Explorer without the username, password
prefix eg. ftp://ftp.microsoft.com
Then select the File>Logon as menu option to enter your password.

The ftp stuff has changed with IE7 in order to separate the web browser from
the local machine, but those changes may have impacted on pre-XP versions of
windows via windows updates.

Regards.

Hi Rob,

Thanks very much! It worked! So simple, yet I couldn't find my
way....

Thanks,
Anton

Hi Anton,

ftp has changed with IE7 in response to security concerns. You will have to
get to use to using Windows Explorer for ftp from now on.

Thanks Rob I was having the same problem.
