Use auto-archive to move out old items (based on the Modified datestamp,
not the Received datestamp) to move them into an archive .pst file.
Then copy the archive .pst file from the hard drive to a CD-R. Just
remember that you will need to copy that .pst file off the CD-R because
it is read-only media and Outlook wants write access to every .pst file
that it opens. After moving back to your hard drive, remove the
read-only attribute from it and use File -> Open in Outlook to open that
old .pst message store.

If you don't want to use auto-archiving and instead manually pick all
the items to put in the archive .pst file, use File -> Data Management
to create a new .pst file (message store), open it using File -> Open,
and then drag which items you want into this backup .pst file.

<sigh> "download" means to copy files from the Internet or a remote server
to your local machine......

To save your email to a CD close Outlook and copy the pst file to a
CD....that's all there is to it...
