"Save" function greyed out

I am familiar with the routine for "Save as" being greyed out, but
this is about "save." "Save as" is up and running. Control+S generate
no response. I am able to save files by Control+S in MS Word, though.
Any advice on how to restore "save"? Many thanks.

Try this fix.

Save Target As and Print Target Commands Are Unavailable
When you right-click a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) link in Microsoft
Internet Explorer, the Save Target As and Print Target commands may be
unavailable.

Thanks, but -- not to sound too unappreciative -- I said very
explictly in my original message that I'm familiar with "Save As"
routine, and this is _not_ my problem. Mine is the greying out of
"Save" alone. "Save as" is fine. I'll be indebted for any relevant
advice.
