Save Excel file to HTML.

Which way would you save an Excel file to HTML ? Office 2007, Web
Expressions and FrontPage.

I first Saved.AS to CSV then to Html.

I also tried from XLS to HTM.

Then the file will be opened with Web Expressions and/or Front Page for more
configuration.

Thanks for your help and tips ; Novice @ New Orleans Louisiana

Hi New Orleans Novice,

If you have Excel 2007, click the Office button and Save As...
Choose save as web page (html) from the list of available file types.

Close Excel. Then you can edit the htm file in your favourite web editor (or
just keep using Excel).

How can one woman be so smart? But it worked fine just as you said. I hope
I do not owe you Cajun Gumbo for every answer.

"The cleanest way to move date from Excel to Expression is to save your
Excel
data as a CSV file (1 prefer comma separate) then post into code view.
After which use Tables > Convert > table to text. That way you get a nice
clean table with no Excel table formatting"

We have plenty of Gumbo and Crawfish.

Like in TEXAS everyone is Bar B Q'ing Beef. In Mississippi they are Bar B
Q'ing Chicken. Here in South Louisiana we are into Crawfish.

In New Orleans the ones on expensive crack are Car Jacking and Drive By
Murders which helped move us to Number 1 after passing Philadelphia and
Detroit. In the outlying areas of South Louisiana everyone is eating
Crawfish as this movie shows our local Cafes.

You and the Swedes both.
Curious name Crawfish, since it isn't a fish?!
The Swedes import a lot of them from you.

Before I can answer: Is this a one time conversion or will it be on going?
What will the load, number of visitors, be that views the data within a
10-20 minute window? How large is the Excel data?

With those answers, you can be advised what would be the best way to
implement a solution to your needs (requirements).

The very smart wise woman solved it for 2 sacks of Osyters and 3 sacks of
Crawfish

saving excel 2007 file as a CSV file, resetting the columns, then saving as
htm file worked well. The htm file uploaded without changing the data to
website file manager and published without the error message " webpage not
found" after renaming the extension to .html. thanks for the idea.

Don't use xls to html. Instead bring your csv file into Expression Web then
with the csv content highlighted use Table > Convert to Table then from the
resulting dialog box select "comma" as the format to convert from. Gives you
a very nice clean table instead of the junk that can be put in using the
Excel output html.
