need PP to go to a blank screen when opened, not the current default screen

What version of PowerPoint?

By blank screen, do you mean a blank presentation or no presentation at all?

PP 2003, blank presentation without the text boxes or graohs etc, every time
i use P i need to manually select the new blank screen as i never use test
pages.
Thanks

The simplest thing might be to create a default presentation that's set up the way
you want it (ie, one blank slide in the presentation, the master you want, etc.)
and save it someplace convenient.

Then doubleclick its icon to start PPT, and immediately save the file to a new
name (maybe set the original file to Read Only to help yourself remember this one)
