Comp.periphs.printers is not a forsale group. Please do not spam
comp.periphs.printers.

I'll be keeping tabs now to see which person pushes the most ink (OEM
versus generic).

There are no 'generic' plants here. Meashershithead is the only
consistent spammer in this ng. He spams the ng with his "oem' shit on a
daily basis.
Kill file him!

Not many are, if any. Most posters extolling the use of aftermarket
formulated ink are happy customers of those aftermarket formulated ink
vendor.

You said "happy customers". Yes, this is a printer group where feedback
is very important from experienced users.

Yes, happy, happy, happy!

True experience. One of my cartridges registered low recently. I went to
get the refill bottles and noticed I was almost out of one color -
they're only the 2 oz plastic bottles.

I then went to HobbiColors eBay page and ordered another kit pronto. For
$22 (US) I get enough quality ink to refill about 7 full sets (of 5
cartridges). They also give you 5 spanking new blank cartridges,
including the bigger BCI-3e for the black, and a syringe and detailed
instructions. Actually, I prefer 5 separate syringes. But this isn't an
issue since I have a "cupla-a-dozen" in my collection.

I was amazed to hear my kit was mailed same day, and then found the
order literally on my doorstep (didn't hear the mail truck!) a few days
later.

So for about $30 Canadian, with shipping ($25 or $26 US), I get a set of
new cartridges and ink. Very economical considering that same $30
Canadian won't even buy 2 Canon OEM cartridges. So I calculate this
refill kit will save me... about $590 after subtracting the price of the
kit. Yeah, I'm happy. Do I wish Canon sold a kit like this? Heavens,
no!!! You know they'd charge $500 for it ;-)

It would seem that hobbicolors does sell things outside of e-bay, but
they use paypal or postal money order for payment. I'm giving their
wc8 inks a shot.

WC8, that's the new next generation ink for the new iP4200/iP5200 line,
right? It'll be a while before I get to use this line of improved inks
as I have too many printers right now. The new inks supposedly have a
significantly wider gamut and improved light fastness over the inks used
in the BCI-6 cartridges.

I do plan to test the wc8 inks in my printer in Japanese mode, which is
geared for bci-7.

As i've not actually met bci-7, I can not say for sure bci-7 is the
same as cli-8, but bci-7, bci-7e, and cli-8 are all part of the
chromalife series. But the ink for these all tend to be listed as
being the same.

Interesting. If you go for it, let us know how the new colors are and if
you notice an improvement over the older BCI-6 inks.

pure generic. you do not know what they are

I do so. I know I am buying;

A: An ink formulated for my particular printer.
"generic" ink would preclude that formulation.

B: Inks many other have used and have had few problems with.

Gary, meashershithead does not care about hearing or knowing the truth.
He's obviously mentally retarded as far as printers, ink and paper are
concerned.
