Save as Word macro template

I'm having trouble saving a Word 2010 Macro Template Document. How do
you open the template its self. I found that I had to save to Word
Document then edit, reenter my code again, then save as Macro
template. Why is it not saving my code. Thanks in advance!!!!

Are you selecting .dotm as the file type? When you create a new file from
the New dialog, are you choosing Template rather than Document? See
