Hi,
We have several (large) ppt and pptx documents from our client which crash
whenever we save as web page twice in power point 2007! So first it saves,
then it crashes. This can be reproduced on several different computers and
windows opperating systems. If restarting the ppt server each time this does
not occur. Anyone familiar with this bug? Can anyone help. Unfortunately the
documents are classified, but if no one has experienced this before I'll try
to ask them to construct one for sending purpose.
Best Regards,
Marton Bokor

Please do construct an unclassified version and send us the link along with
any error messages that you receive.

No, nothing more. This simply happens whenever a user saves as web page twice
or for other documents sometimes more. But for us this is importan because we
are automating office through inerop and a double save is frequent. Certainly
it crashes this way too. Also this is always and clearly reproducable via
automation and manually by a user. I've asked the client to prepare an
unclassified version. As soon as he is finished, I will post the link. One
more thing: They played around with saveas options, like turning off
auto-recovery or changing Explorer 4 compatibility to Explorer 5. And in this
case it did not crash, but the window got corrupted (close button
dissapeared), and sometimes the content became distorted as well.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your help. No, disabling the virus scanner (McAffe) did not help
and this bug is always reproducable the same way, there is nothing random
about it, at least concerning two documents. I am now waiting for the
unclassified version. I have no Idea when will I get it, it may as well be
several weeks. I'll post as soon as there are results. In worst case scenario
we will restart the ppt server for them upon every upload (this is a custom
DMS).
Best Regards,
Marton
