I am reading these postings and learning a lot. Just got the advice to save
my move in dv-avi format. Problem is that when I "save as" that option is
not available. Shoule this be when I am making a movie?

When you click on the Save to My Computer option, do you not get a screen
where you imput the name of the movie..... click on Continue and then see
another screen with a drop down option list?

Thanks Cari,
I got it. I was able to save my movie as DV-AVI and all went well. I
saved it to my computer. Now if you can help on this one? After I have it on
my computer as a DV-AVI file and I have a All-Inwonder 8500 graphic card and
a firewire IEEE-1394 card and a Sony digital camcorder that has the firewire
port. How do I get the saved movie into my camcorder? I have been trying for
weeks. Any help is welcomed. JC

PapaJohn,
Thanks for that tip for the WinDV. I had found that tip on another inquiry
and downloaded that before I read your tip to me. The propblem I am
struggling with now is that I am not sure I have configured this program
correctly. I did not have enough time to read and rework the directions. I
was trying to configure the sending out to camera. Maybe I should have tried
to capture. However, my sony device digital DCR-TRV730 is not showing up.
Only my radion all-inwoonder card (8500).

I am also frustrated because after I followed the directions to save my
movie to the computer as a DV-AVI (which worked great) I can now see it in
Media Player great but when I use my radion card to send the signal through
the VCR and to my monitor that has PIP picture in picture, I select V1 as the
source and can see the desk top minitor fine but the movie video screen is
blank. The audio goes through fine. I took the VCR out of the link and went
directly to my monitor using the video RCA cables. Again the same thing when
I want to play the movie there is no video. Life can not be this crazy.

I am trying the suggestion of finding someone who might have a firewire card
and then I can test my cable and camera device. I have two different
IEEE-1394 firewire cables and have tested both so I am going to rule out the
cable. One is brand new and the other came with the camera.

I have tested the USB2 ports that are also on the card with the firewire
ports and all are working fine. Thanks for being out there for us and I have
gone to your web site and learned a lot. JC

Windv needs a firewire connected cam to work.
Overlay only works on one monitor at a time, unless you have a high end
graphics card which will overlay on two. Therefore to view video on a second
monitor, or the tv, you need to set this as the primary monitor in the
graphics card options.
