Save As JPEG option in MSPaint disappeared

Hello,
I am working on Win2000 Professional with all the updates applied.
Recently I observed that the option to save a file (using MS-Paint) in JPG
format has disappeared. When i select the "Save As" option in Paint, the
"Save as type" listbox does not have "JPG" as an option.
It seems, it might be a problem with the registered MIME types.
Can someone please help to overcome the problem.

Note: If you download the Graphic_Filters.zip
and wish to apply it, be sure you do a regedit Export of the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Graphics Filters\
Key first and save it. As it is possible some existing entries could
be overwritten.

You can always just try opening a jpg in MSPAINT and then close it then reopen it. It should be back to normal.
