save as dialog box view

When a "save as" dialog box opens, I can change the way it looks with the view menu. The problem is that when I open a new dialog box, the settings revert back to the default. I've tried folder options->apply to all folders in windows explorer and that doesn't work. How do I fix this problem? Your help is much appreciated as the default view gets quite annoying.
 
There isn't a workaround for that as of yet.
