New to FP - Can't make Save All command available in the file menu. Trying to
work through a tutorial. Can't continue the practice! Thanks

which version of FrontPage?
there should be a little arrow at the bottom of the file menu when you first
click on it. hover over the arrow and see if it expands the menu, revealing
the "save all".

there's also an add-in at www.jimcoaddins.com that's titled like; "save and
close all".

Thanks Chris - but not the issue... I can view and see the Save All command
in the File menu no problem, but it is dimmed and not available - doesn't
function.

I am not really looking for an add-in, just trying to learn the program and
follow the ms tutorial.

Still can't figure out what mode is necessary for the Save All command to be
active.

Thanks again. More tips are welcome!

David

Do you have a page opened? It will be dimmed unless you do.

Yes Rob -

I can view any of the individual pages in any of the modes -design, split,
etc.

Still Save All remains dimmed.

BTW - I am using FP 2003

Thanks!

David

if you've got a "site" opened and actually have pages opened with unsaved
changed and you still don't have an active "save all" try this;

hit help/ detect and repair.

hmmm, not sure..but here's a guess...if it's a pre-designed tutorial maybe you can't save the page over the existing tutes...try a Save As on one of the pages see if that works.

Aha!

Thanks Guys!!!

It turns out that Chris had the clue... The Save All command does not become
active unless there are unsaved changes on a page.

The tutorial instructed me to first save the page - then use the save all
command to make sure there are no forgotten changes elsewhere in the site.

It doesn't work like that. If you save your work with the save button, and
there are no remaining changes, the Save All command remains dimmed! Not like
other save commands.

Thanks again.... Now on to the next stupifying mystery.

:-) !
And there will be more "stupifying mysteries"...that's what makes it fun.
