Hi All
Got some cash for 61st birthday and thought of a Sat Nav system. Spotted Tomtom One version 4 at approx £137. Would appreciate any comments on this or a better alternative.
Thanks in advance

I don't actually use one myself been a biker, but my brother has one, and reckons it is pretty faultless..I'd say have a little look around for whats out there..The one you have seen can be found for a lot cheaper..

I have the V3 and its spot on. Just install Tomtom Home and keep it up to date and its all good. :)

Also, you gotta get Yoda's voice on it too! :D

Yeah the Tomtom is basically the best there is out there, simple to use straight out of the box..Speed cameras can be downloaded and added and some even come with a years free updates..

They can be found cheaper though so look around on the net..

Yep cant do no wrong with the TomTom m8 :) ...google for price now :thumb:

My daughter has TomTom One and is very pleased with it.

She only paid £100 though on a special deal at one of the big supermarkets. Well worth shopping around.

A good map will only cost less than £5. As you have a pc google maps are great. Drive to near to where you want to be and ask a local yokel. Spend the money you saved on a short break.

Thanks crazelegs - will certainly look at that!

Thanks Abarbarian.
For 30 years I cruised into Barnstaple with no problem - then they changed the approach from the A39 from Roundswell roundabout - complete with huge piles of rock on the roundabouts (I think they are meant to mean something) so you cannot see the exit you want. Even my wife in the navigation seat couldn't see how to get into Halford's to buy a Satnav (It used to be 50 yards from the old roundabout), so I will order online.
Cheers

ps If you ask a yokel ( I am an honoury one after 35 years in Cornwall) they always turn out to be vistors)
