I have A8N-E motherboard and I am using SATA2 hard disk. My windows XP
is showing this disk as removable device. How do i disable that?

Also my BIOS tries to detect IDE drive first and then only tries to
boot from SATA2? How do i set my BIOS to boot from SATA2 drive
directly?

I don't know what BIOS version you are running or the
SATA driver you have installed but you can set the boot
priorities in the BIOS. The little removable drive tray
icon won't hurt anything. There should be a tweak to
remove it though.

Sata Drive Showing as Removeable Device.

Hi Sravi:

I am pre-supposing that your chipset here is an
nVidia nForce 4. The nVidia chipset on this
motherboard supports sata hot swap drives and
the applet shown will identify this as the case.
As this is a feature of this chipset and allows a
drive to be fitted while your computer is on it
is not really a fault but a feature.

In the BIOS go to the page in the BIOS where
the drives are listed (not the CMOS) and make
sure that the drive you want to boot from is top
of the hard disk list. Check that your boot priority
is also set to hard drive first. This should cure the
boot problem.
