I can't imagine how just formatting the drive would stop it working. What
did you do exactly?

Is your disk recognized in the Disk Management MMC snap in? (i.e.
right click My Computer and select Manage)

It is quite a new drive, it was working but started to crash all the time. I
tried a reformat but now I cant get the computer to start at all and when I
try a re-install I get messages saying that the drive cannot be formatted.
It wont load windows. It maybe a duff drive or motherboard, not oo sure how
I find out which.
Thanks for the help.
Dave
