Sata - will the connector stay the same with new revisions ? ie sata 300

sub says it all, buying a a7n8x deluxe with sata and it would
be nice to be able to buy a sata 300 drive next year and have it work
on this mb....pretty sure it will as I don't think MS
has anything to do with sata....

That problem aint gotta damned thing to do with MS.
Have a look at the cpu socket insanitys for example.

ram in spades.
 
Rumor has it that MS is the one who pushed for SATA.
ATA and SATA can use the same drivers.

In principle they can. In practice so far it hasn't worked out that
way.
