Hello All
I have Epox 8rda3+ motherboard, and I have a problem with my SATA every so
often I get a message saying it is disconnected like when you unplug USB
device but I have not touched it.
I am running both SCSI Ultra160 and SATA together and the operating system
is w2k pro. Could it be a powersupply problem?????

any ideas?

Lee.

Hi,

did you check for Mobo BIOS update? I believe that earlier nForce2 boards
had a few SATA problems, but subsequent BIOS updates fixed it. . .

Hi, and drivers to match the BIOS? in which case I am not sure. Maybe it's
an side-effect of also using SCSI? I know it should all work fine together
but you have to begin trouble shooting somewhere. .

What operating system are you using?

What operating system are you using?

Just as I posted, I realized that you told us that you use Win2K.
Though that is a fairly stable OS, it still might be the source of the
problem.

I have Windows Me and various removable USB and IEEE 1394 devices.
Even though I tell Windows to eject the drives, it often won't. There
has been no error message, until recently.

Recently, during an upgrade, Windows began putting a USB manager on my
toolbar when my USB camera is connected. I can click on the manager
and tell it to disconnect my camera, but it won't. It give me an error
message, saying that the device cannot be disconnected at this time.

My options are to shut down the computer before I disconnect, or turn
off the devices and disconnect them. If I do that latter, Windows
displays one or more scold screens, telling me how I am ruining my
files by doing this (my files are fine).

You probably have some background program keeping open files on removable
drives. Try shutting down everything in the system try, check for
virus/spyware, etc.

Windows 98/ME should always have the "safe removal" icon (unless you disable
it) with a USB drive.
